Ordered all their different variations : belly pork $1.40. Pork, chicken and mutton 70 cents each and rice cakes (ketupat) 70 cents. Do note Chinese satay doesn't have beef skewers. All skewers were grilled to perfect tenderness. Marinade was a good balance or sweet & savory complimented by the peanut dipping sauce. 👍
My favourite satay in Singapore. Generous portions of meat, well seasoned, more lemongrass than many other satays. Their sauce also has pineapple.
I always order the pork and pork belly. Only tried their chicken once or twice, but the pork is good.
Some negative reviews ordered it delivered or collected. If you wait too long then it definitely won't taste as good. You can call them up and pick up the order but don't wait too long.
Maybe it’s just my luck that my order of delivered satay tasted like overnight food because I certainly won’t recommend it. I know my photos made them look pretty good but both the mutton and pork texture were dry and absolutely does not represent what good satay is suppose to be. And the Banana Leaf Otah is unusually small for a “Banana Leaf” type otah. It’s not the usual size you and I are familiar with. It’s so small it’s the size of a normal otah or perhaps even smaller. Moreover it did not taste good at all. It tasted flat and like overnight food as well. The chicken wings, although damn skinny, was their saving grace. At least the wings and chilli sauce tasted quite nice. Satay sauce also not bad. But this will be my first and my last time. This place is not for me.
Craving for good satay tonight, had my craving fully satisfied with pork belly satay and pork satay!❤️❤️❤️
Love it!❤️❤️❤️
Another good satay fix at the coffeeshop tonight! Bliss❤️❤️❤️
Satay was well marinated and cuts of meat good sized. The pork belly satay was good! every thou the price is double of the normal pork satay, you do get double the portion as well, so it works out to be the same price. Their prices are really reasonable considering the most satay sellers are asking $0.70 to $0.80 per stick now they are still at $0.60.
I will let the photo speak for itself.
We ordered 10 sticks of chicken satay and all 10 were puny pieces of skewered meat. Behold, each stick actually costs 70 cents!
We sighted this stall as we drove past and decided to have a try. Order at the counter and a buzzer will be given to you. Minimum order of 10 sticks of satay is required.. should you choose to mix the choice of meat, a minimum of 5 of each type is required. We went for 10 sticks of chicken. The order took about 10 minutes before our buzzer went off. Served with the standard few pieces of cucumber and onions and a bowl of gravy. One look and the friend commented "why so burnt". That didn't bother me though the friend proceeded to peel of whatever burnt parts she could. The meat was tender and tasty safe for the burnt parts which made the portion of the meat "not so nice". The gravy, I did not like it one bit. It was too watery.. hardly like the thick peanut paste gravy that I am familiar with. So watery it was, the gravy hardly stayed on the satay as I took it out of the bowl. :/ Best of the dish? The crunch fresh cucumbers.
Each stick of satay costs S$0.70 so, expect to spend at least S$7 if you are to visit the stall.
Ticked off the "visited" list, unlikely we will be back.
Order the Pork Belly satay and don’t bother about the rest.
Simply because the pork belly was so good that the usually pork and chicken pale in comparison 😊
